Esoraa is a design studio in Berlin. We host block printing workshops in our home studio in Mitte, and we make handcrafted bags with weaving and printing artisans in India.
The studio was founded in 2022 by Karvishi Agarwal Willert, a trained fashion and textile designer. She hosts every session herself: you print with hand-carved wooden blocks on organic cotton or paper, and take home what you make. All materials are included, masala chai and snacks are served throughout, and no experience is needed. Just curiosity.
Our bags come from the same craft. Each piece is woven and printed by hand, in small batches, with artisans our founder has worked with for years. Because every bag is hand-printed and hand-woven, slight variations in pattern alignment and colour depth are part of its beauty. They are the trace of a hand, not a machine.
Building Esoraa is what gets me out of bed every morning. The idea of being able to share my history, culture and passion with you all has given me a greater purpose.
Karvishi Agarwal Willert, founder and designer
We started as a way to bring craft from India and its neighbouring countries to Europe, made well and shown with respect. Too often these textiles were copied into mass production and labelled cheap. We work the other way around: real artisans, fair production, natural materials, and designs made to be lived with. What remains is material, memory, and the beauty of things made to last.
